The story of a photographer
Hi, I`m Carol
I am a Cotswold based photographer with a love of animals, nature and wildlife and my work is mostly inspired by the natural world. I am passionate about nature and wildlife both as an artist and as a photographer and I am driven to create imagery that is made up of layers of meaning and with emotional range.
I first dipped my toe into the world of wildlife photography using a little Sony Cybershot camera, initially using the photographs as subject matter for painting. My Family must have thought that I had an eye for a good photograph because they all clubbed together one Christmas to buy me my first DSLR camera. A major passion for photographing the natural world was unleashed.
My passion for wildlife photography is all consuming, and I spend a lot of my spare time taking photos that show wildlife in its natural environment, capturing precious moments in time and sharing these with others. I will try to focus on the animal's eye to capture a catchlight reflection, whilst keeping an awareness of its habitat and the light direction. I particularly enjoy capturing animal behaviour and if I can encapsulate the seasons too, even better! I like to think that there is a sensitivity about the images that I take.
Capturing wildlife is not easy and I spend many hours researching, patiently watching and waiting, hoping to capture that perfect image. I love being outside amongst nature whatever the weather because you never know what it`s going to throw at you and what might cross your path, whether that is a stunning natural landscape or a wild creature, such as a Fox, an Otter, a Weasel or even a wild boar with its piglets!
My "Boar to be wild photograph has been selected to feature in the Countryfile Calendar 2024.
As a photographer my main passion is wildlife photography however, I also love capturing all things nature, people and pets too.
I am proud to say that there is a sensitivity about my work and that my pieces speak for themselves.
